PooPrints - The DNA Solution for Dog Waste

PooPrints - The DNA Solution for Dog Waste

What is PooPrints?

PooPrints is the first and largest commercial DNA Waste Management Program.

What does that mean?

We create a genetic database of dogs with DNA collected from cheek swabs. We then collect DNA from any unscooped pet waste and compare it to the database to identify who hasn’t picked up after their pet.

We are animal advocates. As an organization, we function off of three pillars:

  1. Promote responsible ownership
  2. Protect the environment
  3. Expand pet access

We understand the wonderful value that pets bring to ones life and a community, so our program allows more dogs to live more places.

'Snapcrap' App Developer Hopes to Help Clean Up San Francisco Streets - NBCbayarea.com

"The new app released on Tuesday to iOS users is trying to help clean up the dirty streets of San Francisco, according to its developer Sean Miller, a San Francisco engineer who moved from Vermont to South of Market in 2017 and immediately took notice to the feces, needles and trash cluttering walkways." ...

""I see poop" is one of the random automated comments that Miller designed to fill out the required comment section on the city's form. He said he wanted to make reporting public health issues fun for the community."

Alas, No More Rants

You've probably wondered why this blog has gone silent.

In a nutshell, I've finally gotten all of the ranting out of my system.

To seal the deal, I've moved to Florida, and my new neighborhood has hyper-responsible dog owners. How refreshing!

Au revoir!

SF dog-walker regulations get initial OK

SF dog-walker regulations get initial OK | City Insider | an SFGate.com blog:
"Six? Seven? Eight? Infinity? Just what should the limit be on how many dogs a professional dog walker can walk at any one time in a city park? The answer — drum role, please — is eight. That’s the number of the Board of Supervisors settled on today after much debate."

Uncharacteristically grateful for dog owners

The neighborhood has had a recent rash of crime, including, but not limited to burglaries, thefts, and gun point robberies.

So, needless to say, during these long darkness days, I'm grateful to see and be in the company of dog owners walking their dogs.

I feel a wee bit safer (no pun intended).

Happy holidays!

Yikes! This is a report of someone who has put a rather extreme warning on their trash can:
"OLD LADY - If I catch you in the act of putting your dog's crap in our cans, I will cut off your head and bolt it to the hood of my car!"
