That's to say, when I hit onto the green, it's probable that I've created a divot (an indentation in the short grass of the green). So best practice is to repair my divot (so the grass heals faster), and find another divot to repair.
In summary, I repair "my" divot, and I also repair someone else's divot.
So, wouldn't it be great if all dog owners picked up their own dog poop, plus one extra poop?!
