Novy Koi Better Than Ambient Dog Poo

Koi Fish on Castro sidewalk - Jeremy Novy - San Francisco, CA 94114
Something different for a change of pace. Recently, in our new neighborhood park (next to the Twin Peaks Bar), I noticed these wonderful koi appearing on the ground. I've wondered who was responsible for them.

Today, while strolling into the Castro, I noticed some new koi fish on the sidewalk of the little triangular park near our house. See the picture I took.  This is such a fabulous distraction to all the dog doo that litters the sidewalks.

Many thanks to the artist, Jeremy Novy. Learn more about Jeremy in this SFGate article, S.F. artist Jeremy Novy thrives in outdoor gallery.

Dog Poo Filth Around Eureka Valley Recreation Center

I was in the neighborhood recently, and decided to walk around the grounds of the Eureka Valley Recreation Center.  One word, filthy!

Dog doo filth on sidewalks, around the Eureka Valley Recreation Center - Castro, San Francisco CA, 94114
The Center has a building, children's playground, baseball field, tennis court, and a dog run.  I just walked around the perimeter on the sidewalk. I didn't go into the dog run, so I'm unable to report on the cleanliness of that space.  What I can share with you is that the surrounding sidewalk areas are gross, filthy, and covered by dog poop.

I suspect the dog run is a doo magnet for the surrounding sidewalks. It's a shame.

I Am Not Alone In The Club Of Dog Poo Ranters

Criminy!

Today I walked a mere 4-1/2 blocks from Muni Metro to the house, and had about 5 dog poop near misses. The adjacent picture shows just one of the near misses.

I'm happy to discover that I'm not the only one driven to ranting in this neighborhood and adjacent neighborhoods, just read these two Noe Valley blog threads:
